Undaunted Awarded DARPA Contract to Bring Code Visualization Technologies to Market

Undaunted to work with DARPA to commercialize visual code understanding technology

Arlington, VA – Undaunted Development LLC, a leader in visual tools for cybersecurity and software development, announced today it has been awarded a contract by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Commercial Strategy Office to lead a new commercialization effort focused on one of the software world's most pressing challenges: helping humans understand unprecedented amounts of code faster and more accurately.

With AI-generated code on the rise and ever-growing amounts of legacy code, companies need new solutions for keeping up. While LLMs make generating code easier, humans are still needed to accurately maintain and fix code, creating a gap of understanding that is both an issue to cybersecurity and general software development.

"Today, mission owners and operators generally lack the adequate capacity for software understanding due, in part, to technology manufacturers building software that greatly outpaces their ability to understand it, creating a software understanding gap," according to a 2025 joint report from CISA, NSA, and DARPA. "This gap leads to an inability to create software that is secure by design, remediate defects once discovered, maintain software at the speed and scale of mission relevance, and secure software against exploits"

Through this effort, Undaunted will continue support for DARPA’s AI Cyber Challenge (AIxCC) program to leverage advanced visual tooling as a key element to increasing human understanding of software and software systems.
